Tin Sparrow at The Standard, Friday, 26th October 2012

Promising new band, Tin Sparrow headlines at The Standard, Friday, 26th October 2012. Not only do they sound good, they are quite easy on the eye too.  A band that was formed out of a couple of uni friendships.  They already have a pretty strong following judging from the turn out.

Support our talented Aussie artistes - go see a live band this weekend, peeps!!

Miss Jessica Cerro... Opening for Tin Sparrow at The Standard

Miss Jessica Cerro, 17 year old singer-songwriter from the Hills District of Sydney is a new musical force to be reckoned with.  Together with Dirt Farmer, she opened for Tin Sparrow at The Standard on Friday, 26th October 2012 and brought the house down with a couple of covers from Feist and her own original compositions.  Accompanied by guitarist, Cameron, Jessica wowed the crowd with her unique and amazing vocals.  With her warm, soulful soaring vocals, she quickly gained the attention of everyone in the venue, many of whom had never heard of her before.  A self-taught guitarist, Jess did not pick up her first guitar until year 7 at school, going on to writing her own songs almost immediately.  Mum burst into tears when she heard her first demo and decided that her daughter needed to be heard.  So, first stop, Triple J Unearthed.  Jessica's now signed with Alberts.  While we eagerly await her first album, her singles are now available on iTunes.  This girls is crazy good and she will go places.  And you heard it from me.

Images of my photoshoot with Jessica earlier this year can be viewed from my other blog:  http://frockqueen.blogspot.com.au/2012/05/photo-shoot-with-jessica-cerro-friday.html

Red Light Confidential, Industry Burlesque Event - Thursday, October 11th, 2012

Red Light Confidential No 9
Thursday, October 11th
The Colombian Hotel
117 - 125 Oxford Street
Darlinghurst
NSW 2010

The brainchild of Miss Kelly Ann Doll, Australia's favourite swing dancing Burlesque starlet (www.kellyanndoll.com.au), Red Light Confidential happens once a month showcasing up and coming as well as established Burlesque performers and other entertainers.  With burlesque bring the main focus, we have also seen some awesome acts from pole dancers to magicians and live bands.  This is the 9th show and like the others, showcased some very tip top acts.  I have been to quite a few RLCs in the past and you can view past photos on my other blog, frockqueen.blogspot.com.  I am currently streamlining my posts and have decided to put all new postings on this blog while you can still view past postings on frockqueen.blogspot.com.

I am more of a photographer in learning rather than a prolific writer so I will try to let my photos speak for themselves.

Unfortunately I had to leave shortly after Miss Veronica Bloom's very sexy and dainty number and missed out on other shenanigans and acts.  So here are the ones I got to enjoy...

Delectable and feisty host, Miss Memphis Mae

Bringing some old world glamour, the gorgeous Miss Veronica Bloom.

The alluring and dazzling Miss Ember Flame.

Miss Ember Flame with her very willing volunteer, Peter Quinn for her thigh slapping humorous number.

A very relaxed Ember Flame after her energetic and humourous Russian dance number.

Our Ukelele lady, Miss Lauren La Rouge with her very cheeky & mischevious pussycat number.

Bringing some glamour and sensuality from an era lost, Miss Veronica Bloom.
