PRAIRIE DU ROCHER - The Rock Prairie in French is a little village in Randolph County, Illinois, United States.  One of the oldest communities founded as a French settlement that has survived the 21st century.  Yes, I am just a little behind on my blogging.  But I was busy living life.  So here I am trying to play catch up.  This village was founded in 1722 by French colonists, mainly migrants from Canada.  It flanks the east side of the Mississippi River.   Such a quaint and peaceful little town, population, 604 at the 2010 census (thank you, Wikipedia).

There's a little restaurant in that building that has the juiciest, tastiest southern fried chicken!!  Forget KFC.  This is where the best chicken is! Not many places you can get a freshly cooked southern fried chicken meal and a drink!

Legend has it that Big Foot lives in the hills here.  There is even a black wooden cut out of the figure of Big Foot perched up there somewhere.

This is motorbike country especially when the weather is kind.  It's a quaint little quiet town until the Triumphs, Kawasaki & Fat Boys rumble into town.  You can't help but turn your head to check out those bikies - men as well as ladies on their roadtrips or simply a normal Sunday out.

America is a very patriotic country.  I love how they acknowledge & respect their servicemen & women even at the least likeliest places.

So, this broad went abroad recently to St Louis, Missouri, USA.  Not the first destination to spring to mind when visiting America.  But I love the place,  Full of surprises and I want to be back for more.   My first blog in St Louis is at The Grove.  It's a business district where cool record stores and tattoo parlours reside next to hip cafes and restaurants. It is also home to the premier nightlife in the area and is a thriving centre for the LGBT, artist, music lover and cycling communities in the St Louis area.  I was rather taken by Tower Classic Tattooing (http://www.towerclassic.com/) who actually let me have free reign photographing their premises. Just love the way this place is decked out.
